Saturday May 18th was the Annual Santa Cruz Down Wind Ryders Cup. The Ghost Ryders put together this great event and for the 5th edition It was amazing out there. A strong wind was blowing and the conditions were perfect for the 16 miles race. Davenport beach was pact with over 180 boards. All the Santa Cruz locals plus some US and International Pro paddler showed up to Davenport for this world class downwind. Even Jamie Mitchell from Australia (10 times World Champion and Big wave surfer) was in town. Of course he won and set a new record on that course.
I had no expectations after working hard all week and I was feeling tired but I ended up on the podium 2nd on my F-One 12’6 Pro Race !!
It was so cool to be on the podium just next to my idol, an ocean sport ambassador and world class waterman like Jamie Mitchell. Thank you Ghostryders Santa Cruz, thank you F-One Stand Up Paddle, Covewater Paddle SurfStoked! See ya all next year
