Foil Regatta May 13-15, 2016
5/10/16 Event Update:

This weekend’s events will take place at Pass-A-Grille Beach based on the current weather forecast. Friday will be a clinic day/distance race, Saturday and Sunday are course racing days. Weekend course race scoring is different from the Friday distance race scoring.
Registration is now open and available online via Regatta Network. Click the link below to begin your registration: Spring Kite

Location
Ikitesurf is calling for Northwest wind for the entire weekend. That means that we will be racing at the beach. We will be basing our operations out of Pass-A-Grille beach at 22nd Ave. I would recommend setting up your kites just north of 22nd Ave on the beach. Typically, this area is less crowded. On Friday the beach should not be that crowded but on the weekends the crowd will swell. Additionally, construction on the only road leading to Pass-A-Grille has ramped up significantly this week. All of these factors mean that you will need to get to the beach early on Saturday and Sunday in order to get a parking spot close to the venue. If you happen to be a member of a yacht club you might be able to work out some sort of reciprocal privilege to park at the SPYC PAG clubhouse.
Times

All of our operations will be in the afternoons. Below is the tentative plan. This is not totally set in stone, but I would not expect times to move more than an hour in either direction.

Friday
14:30 Meeting to discuss distance race course and safety
15:30 Distance race start.
19:30ish Registration and beers at Aaron’s shop. 4100 34th Street south, Saint Petersburg, FL.
After distance race I’ll be around to go over anything you want. We won’t be able to do video like we did at the last clinic, but we can go over just about anything else.

Saturday
12:30 Competitors meeting.
14:00 First start
19:00 Taco Bar and beers at SPYC PAG

Sunday
12:30 Competitors meeting
14:00 First start
16:00 No race started after this time
