Welcome Rocio Reigert to the F-One Team

Carving Waves and Winning Races.

“With my two brothers Juan and Fede, we decided to travel around South America. We bought a 1986 Volkswagen Kombi and got on the road. It was during that time that kiteboarding and surfing came in my life. Back then, I couldn’t even imagine how those sports were going to transform me. Feeling the wind in my face, the power of the sea and the unique dance of the waves became a great pleasure and something I can’t live without.” Rocio

How did you get into kitesurfing and wing foiling?

From early on, my parents encouraged close contact with nature. We traveled every weekend to a house on the river and there I lived what today is still part of my best childhood memories.

After finishing school, I entered college and subsequently started working, but I felt like I was wasting my time. So, I gathered some courage and money. Then, together with my two brothers Juan and Fede, we decided to travel around South America. We bought a 1986 Volkswagen Kombi and got on the road.

It was during that experience that kite and surfing came in my life. At that time, I couldn’t even imagine how those sports were going to transform myself. Feeling the wind in my face, the power of the sea and the unique dance of the waves became a great pleasure and something I can’t live without.

Worst wipeout?

It was in Los Organos in northern Peru. It was my first kite session, and my brothers were teaching me. I confess that during my first sessions I was afraid, and my brothers did not have much patience with me. That day, the water was cold and there were a lot of waves.

I started kiting and after a few minutes I fell off the board. The kite also fell in the water and started looping. Fear took over me. I let go the bar, but the pressure continued. I released the kite but there was some part that was still stuck in the harness. I started being dragged quickly towards a fishing boat while swallowing water. I was in absolute shock.

Luckily my brother Juan managed to rescue me by cutting the lines and pulling me out of the water. It was a very scary moment, but I think that feeling was what drove me to be better at that sport. Now, I always remember the wind is very powerful and can be dangerous.

A few words on your F-ONE quiver?

Every F-ONE gear I’ve tried so far has great performance. But I have a great passion for the boards. Mainly the ROCKET SURF and ROCKET WING-S CARBON. I feel like they’re part of me. The foils are also impressive, specifically the SK8!
