Battle of the Bay Kick Off Party September 22 5-7pm

The Battle of the Bay, organized by Bluerush, will be held on September 23 and it’s shaping up to be the biggest yet with top notch racers heading toward iconic Crissy Field in San Francisco. New for this year the Battle of the Bay is excited to be an official World SUP Tour event as well as Salt Life Tour event as we were in 2016. Many of the world’s top male and female competitors in standup paddleboard racing will be challenging their skills as they race around world famous Alcatraz Island and the south tower of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Total prize money $15k !!

F-One and Manera will host the pre event party at their flagship shop in Sausalito the day before, September 22 from 5 to 7pm. Refreshments will be served.

Registration:

Register for Battle of the Bay-Watersport Festival 2017!

Online registration will end on Thursday, September 21st at Midnight. Competitors have a LAST chance to register at the Pre-event party at Bluerush / F-One / Manera Headquarters on Friday, September 22nd 5PM-7PM

Pro Competitors:

Pro Men will compete on 14′ & under SUP board (maximum length) in all events and Pro Women 12’6″ & under SUP board (maximum length). Pro competitors MUST compete on the same board for both the Technical and 8.5 mile Alcatraz Races.  A Change of boards in or before a race by a competitor without damage approval will be an automatic disqualification.

Pro competitors must enter and compete in both the 8.5 mile Alcatraz race and the Technical race to be eligible to receive event prize money.  Prize money is overall combined race results.

The Battle of the Bay Championships overall Pro awards will be given to the lowest combined placing of the 8.5 mile Alcatraz race and the Technical race, with the tie breaker being the best result in the Technical race.

Open Competitors:

Open Class competitors have 3 course choices; the 2 mile Shoreline Race best suited for beginner and intermediate paddlers and a 4 mile course along the shores of the Presidio for more advanced paddlers.  The 7.5 mile Alcatraz Race is best suited for the Advanced Paddler only with a experience paddling in all water conditions.

OC1-OC2-Surfski-Prone-Unlimited competitors have one 7.5 mile Alcatraz Race.

Open race competitors will be awarded by gender, age and board/boat class. There is no prize money awarded to Open Class divisions.

Juniors and Kids:

There is a 2 mile Shoreline Race for the novice to intermediate paddlers.

There will also be a be a 1/2 mile Shoreline Race FREE to the kids/Groms.

Even Registration:

You can pick up your registration package and swag bag at the Kick-Off Social at Bluerush/F.ONE-Manera 5PM and 7PM Please then join us at the kick-off party across the street at Bar Bocce. If you are arriving late Friday or Saturday morning you can pick up at the event site Registration Tent at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the first race.
