Nicolai Sponholtz, the newest member of our national US F-One racing team, became the first US National Youth Foiling Champ ! Big congrats to him. Flying the new F-One DIABLO, he finished 16th overall in the Kite Foil Gold Cup, held in Crissy Field in San Francisco this past week. This is a great accomplishment for Nicolai. Since he will be around the Bay Area during his college years, we hope he will continue racing the bay and push the limits in foiling. Beyond stoked to win first place in the Youth Kite Foiling Nationals and 16th place in the Kite Foil Gold Cup in San Francisco today. After four days of nonstop hydrofoil-kite racing around the bay, I ended up 16th place in the Gold Fleet, which comprised some of the best kite racers in the world. Way too much fun. Huge thanks to my family, my sponsors Bluerush and F-One, my friends, and everyone who made the Gold Cup in San Francisco a reality. By far the most challenging and most rewarding regatta or my life. Finally, massive congratulations to @instagrom27 and @daniela_moroz (2nd and 3rd juniors) for keeping me on my toes out there. I’ll never forget this.

What do you do after a great kite session? I like to put on some good music on the car ride home and stop somewhere along the way to replenish the carbs I just expended.
What are the 3 fetish objects that you always take with you during trip? A guitar, speakers, and a Kiteworld magazine.
What is your favorite dish? Definitely a crusty Ribeye with a huge baked potato. With all the right fixings on it.
What is your biggest dream? Right now, my biggest dream is to begin college at UC Berkeley in the Fall, while being able to keep kiting as often as possible!
What is your current music playlist? It’s a playlist with 200+ songs featuring Dave Matthews Band, Alt-J, Kid Cudi, Sara Bareilles and many more. This playlist is the soundtrack to my life.
