La Venta Classic F-ONE Success!
Gear demos, contests, Stand up paddling, and most of all a ton of fun in La Ventana last week for the LV Classic Event. F-ONE and Manera brands were on deck demoing the latest and greatest gear offered for 2016. Pro Rider Nico Landauer also held a Kitefoil clinic that was outstanding. We had a very solid turn out and loved introducing kiteboarders to a hydrofoil for the first time. Those of you who have tried riding a foilboard before know it takes a little bit of time to get acclimated to, and is almost like learning to kite all over again. Overall we had an awesome time in LV, thank you to The Kiteboarder Magazine, Palapas Ventana, and all who was involved. Check out a few highlights from the La Ventana Classic below!
Meet Julio Cesar, he is super stoked after competing in all SUP Races, including the brutal 11 mile Cerralvo to Hot Springs crossing, as well as the 8.5 mile Los Cruces to Hot Springs run. Julio placed mid pack and top in his division. From El Sargento, Julio Cesar is new to SUP, humble family man that has found just the right sport to motivate him in a positive direction. Not having his own board, we were more than happy to have him use our 12’6” Race SUP. I believe we will have a serious local contender for next year’s LV Classic! Well done Julio, we are looking forward to your next race!!
As for the Kite and foil racing side of the event, F-One team rider Nico L takes a double podium finish with four days of super fun racing. Placing 1st in foil racing and taking 2nd in the crossing, Nico and Adam Withington were neck and neck the entire way! As this was the first event of the year, the La Ventana Classic was a great start for everyone who participated and we look forward to the next!
