On the heel of his win at Nazare a few weeks back and his 4th place finish at Jaws, here is a great interview of Grant “Twiggy” Baker by The Kiteboarder / Brendan Richards, with a focus on his passion for kitesurfing. Twig loves the ocean, no matter what’s under his feet, with a special love at the moment for surf foiling. You can read the full interview here.
The new MANERA Sliding bar offers more freedom of movement and range of motion than the fixed hook. It lets you rotate your body without twisting the harness, for a smoother connection with your kite. The harness doesn’t ride up: as the connection with the kite is closer to the body it doesn’t have the leverage effect of a fixed hook. It is a good alternative for foiling, strapless, surfing.

We could not be more proud of Grant ” Twiggy” Baker, who earlier today claims the Nazare challenge in Praia do Norte in Portugal in epic conditions. Twig is a member of the F-One foil team, an accomplished watermen and now considered a veteran in big wave competition. He has done it for so many years, his last win was in Puerto Escondido last year. He won Mavericks twice already, last time in 2013. There are so many young chargers who are gunning for the top prizes nowadays. big congrats Twig !

Looks like kite foiling is on at the 2024 Paris Olympics ! and without a one design, which we support. Yesterday, Sunday 4 November 2018, the Annual General Meeting of World Sailing confirmed the final line-up of events for the Paris 2024 Olympic Sailing Competition. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is made up of delegates from member national authorities (MNA), with each MNA entitled to one vote. Although a decision was made in May 2018, World Sailing’s Regulations allow both the Events and Equipment to be amended at the 2018 Annual Conference by World Sailing’s Council before ratification at the AGM.
A skillful balance between stiffness & flex that brings support where you need it and the freedom to move the way you want. We started the ECLIPSE project three years ago. The idea was to increase the rigidity of our frame concept which would allow for a better support of the back & a lower fit.
Our product development process is always the same: Build a prototype, give it some water-time, re-design it and build another one… Until it feels perfect in every condition. Watch our video and understand the work behind the ECLIPSE harness.
The TRAX has been the F-One best seller for years. Still is. It has always come in two constructions, Lite Tech and Carbon. This year, F-One is introducing a price point TRAX, call the ESL Series, following in the footsteps of the MITU ESL Series. ESL stands for Essential with a focus on optimizing construction process to minimize cost, and keep the shape and program as close as possible to the Lite Tech or Carbon series. Equipped with the Platinum 3 Pads/Strap, Unibox Fins and Handle. Width is quite wide so a 135 x 42cm would be the equivalent of a 137 x 42 Trax Lite Tech. When you choose a twin-tip the length is an important factor, but the width as well !
Winter is all about strong wind & colds days, this is exactly what the Blizzard jacket is made for. This 3 layers vest is light, waterproof & windproof. The two side-pockets let the spreader bar go through to be used when kiting. That jacket is also perfect for kite instructors. The Blizzard jacket creates a cocoon around the Kiter that allows a far better resistance to cold even with a standard wetsuit. Whether you are on the water or debriefing the session on the beach, the Blizzard will keep you warm & comfy.
