F-One Speed Team back from Oman with top honors

Kite Speed World Championship 2018 in Oman has just finished up last week and F-One’s Alex Caizergues and Mandi Browning were on top of the pack! Alex with 49.111 knots takes home second place in the world with a tough battle against renowned Rob Douglas. Mandi receives first place in the women’s division and tenth overall with the men at 35.028 knots!

Recap July 12, 2018: StFYC Thursday Night Kite Race Series

Good night of racing in slightly lighter winds! At the 5:00pm skippers meeting the whole fleet was convinced 9M was the kite, but by 5:15 it was 11M or even 13M. It was a nice break from the winds we have seen since the beginning of June. Johnny Heineken and Daniela Moroz were notably absent tonight giving a chance for some others to be at the top of the pack. Will Cyr (1,1,1) convincingly took the bullet baton from Johnny taking all three races.

John Hadley’s Recap 3rd place finish at the Jay Race

The best way to describe the ensuing ten miles is side-chop. The first half of the race was 90% right side paddling and the second half 90% left side. The wind was southwest. There was chop from that combining with a south swell combining with a northwest wind swell combining with backwash. Pretty sweet. So sweet, in fact, that during the race the safety team decided to shorten the race.

The Fourth Annual Delta Board Meeting is taking place on June 23 and 24, 2018 at Riverview Park in Pittsburg, California. Competitors in big air, freestyle, and an all new poker run will be judged by the Board of Directors.

Recap May 31, 2018: StFYC Thursday Night Kite Race Series

Race One started with all but Johnny Heineken (1,1,1) and Joey Pasquali (3,4,3) starting on starboard. Johnny and Joey just squeaked across the fleet and headed out. As the fleet tacked out Joey and Johnny were looking launched, but as we got closer to the lay line the fleet inside clearly had more pressure. At the windward mark it was Joey, then Johnny but followed by Daniella Moroz (2,2,5) and Kai Calder (4,7,9)
