The Final Stop in Gran Canaria: EP4 with Luca

“Hey everyone! Luca here! I’ve just wrapped up the fourth and final stop of the Adult Freestyle Wingfoil World Tour here in Gran Canaria, and what a way to close out the 2025 season.”

El Burrero, Gran Canaria

“This event took place in El Burrero, a spot known for its strong winds and solid kickers. It didn’t disappoint — the wind was blowing 30–35 knots throughout the comp, with perfect ramps for going big.”

Limited Time to Prepare

“I only had two days of training to get used to the spot before the competition started, so I had to adapt quickly. I focused on dialing in my high-wind tricks and timing my hits on the kickers to get the most out of every gust.”

Competition Highlights

Freestyle
“I started strong in my opening heat, landing a frontside 1440 that scored 9.57 out of 10 — the highest single trick score of the event at the time. I won that heat comfortably and felt locked in.

The semifinal was one of the closest heats I’ve ever had. It came down to the wire, and I just missed out on making my first tour final. Still, it’s the closest I’ve been yet, and it shows how much I’ve progressed this season.

This result put me 5th in Gran Canaria and 6th overall in the 2025 freestyle world rankings — my best season yet on the Adult World Tour.”

Off the Water

“Before the event started, I joined other GWA riders on a guided trip to the old village of Ingenio. We explored the area and had lunch at a traditional Canarian restaurant. It was a great chance to connect with the other riders away from the competition zone and soak in the local culture.”

Looking Ahead

“With the 2025 season wrapped up, it’s time to train hard for 2026. I’m more motivated than ever — I have what it takes to make a finals next season, and a podium finish is within reach. Every comp this year has brought me closer, and 2026 is the year to make it happen.”
