Justine Dupont claimed the Women’s Best Performance Award at this year’s TUDOR Nazaré Big Wave Challenge.
Back in this competition one year after giving birth to her son, Justine looked comfortable in the massive 25-35 foot waves of the world-famous Praia do Norte in Nazaré, staying busy and catching eight waves to build on her score. She also finished with the second-best overall score, and fourth in the team rankings alongside Eric Rebière.
“I used to be very scared. Now, after the baby’s arrival, I worry more about my child, whether he’s sleeping or eating well. At least that takes my mind off the fear!
We’re a family team, we understand each other and I’m really happy to be back here having fun. I’m a bit sad that I couldn’t tow Eric into a good wave. It felt like a rodeo out there.”

Michael Monteiro has been absolutely shredding on his home spot in Cape Verde lately, whether surfing or kiteboarding. A super talented grom we’re stoked to have on our team!
Michael was born to be a waterman. At two, his father Mitu Monteiro taught him how to kite. At the same time, he also started standing up on a surfboard and catching some waves. His talent in surfing is indisputable, so much so that he was selected to be on the Italian U12 national team at the age of eight.
