La Ventana, a coastal town on the Sea of Cortez, is a prime destination for windsports athletes from around the world. This winter, it hosted two key youth-focused competitions: Grom Fest and the Cortes Crown. Both events highlight the future of the sport and the incredible community that supports it.

This year, F-One was represented by Zoe Trudeau in both women’s kite and wing disciplines, as well as Morgan Ostermann, Patrick Kissinger, and Morgan Headington in the mens events. The riders excelled, taking multiple podium spots with impressive talent.

She took home first place in both the Women’s Race and Women’s Freestyle at the Cortes Crown, showing off her all-around skills. At Grom Fest, she kept the momentum going with firsts in Wing Freestyle and Kite Freestyle, plus a second in Kite Big Air and third in Wing Big Air. During my time in La Ventana, Mexico, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in two fantastic events: Gromfest and the Cortes Crown. These competitions, geared towards the younger crowd of wingfoilers, showcased the impressive progression of young riders pushing their limits. At Gromfest, I was thrilled to take home first place in both racing and big air, as well as a second-place finish in freestyle. The Cortes Crown was another fun experience, where I achieved third place in both racing and freestyle. One of the highlights of the event was winning the “Bro’s and Pro’s” race, a unique race that pairs newcomers to the sport with experienced riders, who work together in a relay fashion to outpace the competitors. It was amazing to share the stoke of wingfoiling and help others experience the incredible heights this sport can reach. I would like to thank all the organizers for making these events possible, as well as F-One and Manera for providing me with the best gear out there.” – @morgan.ostermann

At the Cortes Crown event, our riders participated in a truly entertaining event with the mini groms called Pros & Bros. Morgan O, Morgan H, Zoe, and Patrick got the chance to teach their skills and expertise to the youngest kids in the comp, then later combined their points. Morgan O and his teammate Jet Ting claimed gold, while Patrick and Mason Howard took bronze. The mini teams provided top delight to the beach, quickly becoming the crowd favorite.

Patrick Kissinger showed up strong at this year’s La Ventana events, delivering top-tier performances at both the Cortes Crown and Grom Fest. He dominated Pro Freestyle at the Cortes Crown, landing first place. At Grom Fest, Patrick kept the energy high, taking home first in Freestyle and securing second in Big Air. His talent and determination are setting him apart as a top competitor!

I had such an amazing week competing here in La Ventana Mexico. With amazing conditions and great competition. I am super stoked to take first in freestyle in both the La Ventana Gromfest and in the Cortes Crown. As well as taking second in both racing and big air for the Gromfest. Both these events were super fun, and great training opportunities. The competition was great, and has definitely pushed me to keep training. Overall I am super stoked with my results and can’t wait for more.” – Patrick Kissinger
