3 F-ONE riders qualified to Red Bull King of the Air

All great things come in threes!

Three F-ONE team riders will compete at the 2024 Red Bull King of the Air (KOTA), the most anticipated event of the year, figuring amongst the world’s 18 best kiteboarders to head to the Mother City to showcase some massive air and huge tricks.

Jamie Overbeek, Josh Gillitt and Charles Brodel will all travel to Cape Town in the coming weeks for the 12th edition of this competition.

Jamie, 18, is already heading to his third KOTA and had secured his spot a few weeks ago by placing second at the Cold Hawaii Games. In 2022 and at just 16, the Dutchman placed second in his first KOTA, becoming the youngest athlete ever to podium. This will be his first time competing as part of the F-ONE team, and after weeks of helping develop F-ONE’s upcoming new kite model.

It will be the first KOTA for both Josh and Charles. Local hero, Josh Gillit will get to compete on his home spot of Kite Beach. The 19-year-old has tremendously stepped up his game this year, finishing third in the Red Bull King of the Air Qualifier in Tarifa, and making it to the quarter finals at the Cold Hawaii Games and the Lord of Tram events.

A five-time hydrofoil World Champion, Charles will make history by becoming the first-ever KOTA competitor to ride on a foil. The 25-year-old Frenchman has also been heavily involved in the F-ONE R&D process over the years and will send it in Cape Town on a kite he designed himself.
