F-One’s Compact Wing Concept (CWC) patent continues to prove its effectiveness for large wing surfaces in light winds. The new version incorporates Aluula, offering a lighter wing with plenty of punch and speed. Going up on foil has been greatly improved as well. Check out the CWC Aluula in real tested environment. Insights from Fellipe, from Kiteboarding Paradise Hawaii
“The Strike CWC has always been a game changer wing for heavier guys, beginners and light winds. The new one, V4 (4th version), actually surprised me quite a bit. It feels much lighter, stiffer and easier to use. Although I’m not fan of big wings, I don’t like flying anything bigger than 5m, I ended up enjoying the 7m during my last 3 downwind races and island crossings here in Hawaii. I raced with it during the 27 mile Molokai to Oahu downwind crossing and it really helped secure the 2nd place on my division amd 6th overall. Winds were about 12-17 knots that day. In Molokai we had a 10 mile downwind race next day and the wind was cranking 20-25 knots and I decided to test it’s capacity while being extremely overpowered and it was by far my best performance. I could barely hold an edge and stay upwind behind the start line but once it was go time I loved flying over 28mph on my top speed and over 22mph average moving speed while going straight downwind with it.”
“I placed a contested first place (although I was given a second place medal hahaha). I also used my new Strike CWC v4 during the 40 mile island crossing downwind race between the Hawaiian islands of Molokai and Oahu and honestly I wouldn’t have made without it because I ended up at an area without wind in the middle off the Kaiwi Channel (The Channel of Bones), and I was unassisted without an escort boat. At the time I thought that I lost the race and was going to maybe end up having to call for rescue. But after a little over 12-13min struggling without enough wind and getting moved around by big seas and strong currents my 7m had enough power to get me started again and I was able to make up very good gains and not just finish the crossing/race but to placed 3rd place on my division and 10th on this infamous and treacherous World Championship. I’m really happy with this new wing! I’m not sponsored by F-One so I bought 6, 7 and 8m. Hahaha Aloha!”
“I was also rewarded the 3rd place on my division for the very first Koa Kai Triple Crown for my results on Wing Foil Downwind Races in Maui, Molokai and Oahu. All because I had my new 7m Strike CWC v4 paired with my Rocket Wing S 5’2” 70L and the Eagle X 700 foil with the 95cm High Modulus 15mm Carbon mast, 100% F-One gear this year! Special thanks to the BAKS team for the partnership. Mahalo!”

More from Max at Shaka Vibes, Cancun
“The new version of the strike CWC is a great success! The first thing we noticed was the light weight feeling. Not only because of the Allula material, but the way the wing sits in the wind really make it light in your hands, in a similar way than the rest of F-one V4 strikes and swing. The CWC allula is powerful and gives you the forward momentum you need to get on the foil quickly. The pumping is intuitive and efficient.
Once on the foil, you can really appreciate the lightness in the hands. It pulls a lot but doesn’t destroy your arms, and feel very efficient, with less drag than other light wind wings or even last versions of the CWC. This make your light wind session a lot more enjoyable. Our entire team at Shaka Vibes tried the 6M CWC allula with the new hard handles, paired with a downwind board and high aspect ratio foils (eagleX 1000 & Jam 1600) and they all loved it. It’s the perfect combo for summer in Cancun where the wind rarely go over 10 knots… With the Jam 1600 foil, our good riders managed to ride in 5-6 knots of wind and enjoy the session (and even 4 knots of wind with a lot of pumping involved!)”

Next Gen Morgan Ostermanns' Take
Interviewer: “Morgan, first off, congrats on your second place yesterday in the wing category during the Bridge of the Gods Groms Festival – Now how was the 7m CWC Aluula during the Blowout DW race on Sunday?“
Morgan: “Very good. Insane in the light areas and was still good at the hatch in 25 knots. Definitely helped for my 3rd place. Morgan was using an Escape 430 for that race. The iconic Blowout is a 17miles downwind race that happens once a year from Stevenson to Hood River.”
