The 15th annual XBA Kitexpo formally known as The Pismo Beach Kite Expo was an enormous success last weekend, F-One & Manera brands along with 14 others attended forming the biggest kite expo style layout on the West Coast. This is a great hands-on event allowing customers to chat with industry professionals and try gear from multiple brands right there on the spot. Compare, test back to back, mix and match; there is no other way to find out if you like it or not until you try it on the water! This event is one of our favorites for that reason and of course the turnout has always been phenomenal.
We received light winds on Friday but Saturday and Sunday came around and the wind cranked giving demo participants plenty of water time, the stoke on the beach was at an all-time high. We had people coming back for more raving about our new Bandit 10th edition kite!!
It’s always a fun time in Pismo, we wanted to thank the Kiteboarder Magazine crew and Oceano Lifeguards for hosting a top notch safe event. Until next year!

XBA KITEXPO RAISES FUNDS TO SUPPORT 11 KIDS IN OCEANO JR. LIFEGUARD PROGRAM

The totals are in!
Thanks to participants and companies for supporting this year’s fundraising efforts to benefit the Oceano Jr. Lifeguard Summer Program at the 15th annual XBA Kitexpo. Between the Friday night dinner of 55 attendees and the sold-out Saturday BBQ of 150 tickets, the kiteboarding community raised enough funds to support 11 kids in this summer’s program.
ABOUT THE XBA KITEXPO
The XBA Kitexpo, formerly the Pismo Kitexpo, was founded by Central Coast kiteboarding pioneer Kinsley ThomasWong of Xtreme Big Air in 2002. It started as a way to hang out with the few kiters around at the time with a vision to build a community of kiteboarders who shared a passion for the sport and ocean. The event is now dedicated to his spirit, memory and infinite stoke for life.#LiveLikeKinsley
ABOUT THE OCEAN JR. LIFEGUARDS
The objective of the Oceano Dunes Junior Lifeguard Program is to provide quality water safety education. The program is designed to improve young people’s physical conditioning, their understanding and respect for the environment, and their respect for themselves, their peers and their parents.
The Junior Lifeguard Program uses it summer camps to introduce non-traditional user groups to the wonders of the marine and aquatic recreation environments. It is their hope that by offering recreational opportunities to our youth that they will increase the quality of our present and future communities.
