F-ONE // MANERA AT THE 2017 SANTA CRUZ PADDLEFEST
International team paddlers Poenaiki Raioha and newly added teammate Josh Riccio will be attending the 2017 Santa Cruz Paddle Fest along with our West Coast crew and Bluerush team members.
We will be in Santa Cruz for the entire week warming up near the Lane and enjoying the Pacific Coastline with Josh and Poe for a photo-shoot. The West coast has been firing the past couple weeks, lets keep our fingers crossed for solid conditions during the paddlefest.
Find us on the beach prior to the event and check out our extensive 2017 F-One SUP line-up including the all NEW Papenoo, Noosa, Madeiro and Race Pro Shapes. Demo boards will be available for contest participants and experienced paddlers to test and compare, in coordination with Covewater Paddlesurf, our F-One and Manera authorized dealer in Santa Cruz. Contact our friends at Covewater Paddlesurf ahead of time to arrange gear demos. We are stoked to join the festivities again this year and are looking forward to seeing everyone March 23-26th in Santa Cruz, California.
Steamer Lane March 24-26
The main event at the Lane has paddle surfers flocking to Santa Cruz from all over the globe to take advantage of one of Santa Cruz’s most fabled breaks. The Lane breaks along West Cliff Drive and can hold waves of double overhead+. The Santa Cruz Paddlefest has Steamer Lane as host to an elite surfing competition of Surf Kayaks, Stand Up Paddle Boards, and Waveskis. Each class competes separately doing dynamic maneuvers to earn points. Competitors will surf through several heats eventually leading up to the Finals Sunday afternoon.
Cowells Classic March 25-26
Started many years ago, as part of the SCPF the Cowells Classic is a friendly surfing competition. Located at the tail end of The Lane paddle surfers can score long waves without the intense competition scene. We promote this category within our event as an intermediate class of paddlers.
SCPF 5k/10k Race March 25
One of the first paddleboard, outrigger and surf ski races of the year, the SCPF 5k/10k Race starts at Cowells beach, heads out along the Boardwalk, and to Santa Cruz harbor. After the first lap there is a short run followed by the finish line, for the short course. In the long course, racers will pound out a second longer lap out to the Lane, to the harbor, and back to Cowells.
