nantucket race week 01 - Foneamerica

The 5th annual Nantucket Race week had an epic turnout, and the conditions were perfect with winds in the 15-25kt! Nearly 45 competitors were on the water riding kites from 12m to 7m throughout the 3 races. Prizes were awarded in Men’s, Women’s and Junior’s divisions. The venue, off Bass Point on Coatue proved to be perfect for spectators and competitors alike. Thank you again for everyone who came out, and we cannot wait until next year! If you have any questions or want to join the fun next year, give Kitetucket School & Store a call!

Dear Juraj Bencat and everyone at KiteTucket, F-One and Manera,

Thank you very much for supporting Nantucket Kite Race 2015 which is part of Nantucket Race Week. Now in its fifth year the event was held on Sunday August 9 and was a great success. Pre-registration was capped at 35 competitiors and filled up completely. We added a few more on the morning of race day so there were nearly 45 kites on the starting line for the first race. The day was a blustery North East with winds in the 15-25kt range. It was ripping. Competitors rode kites from size 12m to 7m in three races and prizes were awarded in Men’s, Women’s and Junior’s divisions. The venue, off Bass Point on Coatue proved to be perfect for spectators and competitiors alike.

Your contribution to our event was invaluable to the great success of our race. Everyone involved appreciates it greatly. The number of competitiors and the high level of sailing skill on the water demonstrates growing strength of our sport on Nantucket and in Massachusetts. The organizers look forward to improving on this success at next year’s event. Again, thank you very much.
