The Source – first review from BAKS demo

The SOURCE plus a Stand Up Paddle board is great fun starting with only 6 knots

The SOURCE plus a Stand Up Paddle board is great fun starting with only 6 knots and if there is no wind whatsoever, you can still use your paddle!. So regardless of the conditions, you will get wet.

This SUP Kite riding concept is perfect for the beach during summer times, to share your passion with your family and friends, and bring up new comers into our sport.

After feeling the extremely light breeze on the beach, I had a hard time believing that anything could fly—including a plastic bag.

Surprisingly enough, with its extremely light weight (approximately 5lbs for the 13m) and only two lines, the Source comfortably stud up at the zenith with 3-4 knots.

Once on the water, I attempted to water start, but I quickly understood that beach starting is the easiest way to get going since the kite traction is minimal and not sufficient to get me out of the water.

While cruising, in very light winds (4-8 knots), I found unhooked riding very comfortable and perhaps the best way to easily find balance on the board. Unhooked riding is now easier than ever and also a great way to improve your unhooked skills with your regular kite. Other testers and I rode the Source most of the time unhooked with winds below 10 knots.

The only time I rode hooked in was when I was overpowered with only 14 knots of wind! I found jibing to be easy if done progressively. Going upwind is now possible with less than 8 knots!

The Source has been created to be specifically combined to a SUP or large supports.
The Source has absolutely no depower, meaning it’s strictly a light wind weapon.
